FIRST Tech Challenge is more than robots. In our first year (2020-2021), in addition to building an awesome competition robot, we:
- Worked over 300 hours of community service
- Created a peer tutoring program for Greendale Middle School
- Created a STEM Club at Greendale Middle School
- Created and hosted virtual STEAMfests at all three Greendale elementary schools
- Continued Clean and Green for Greendale Middle School, cleaning senior citizen's yards in spring and fall
- Ran STEM/Robotics Girl Scout Meetings
- Organized monthly STEM events at Field Workshop in Downtown Greendale
- Connected with other robotics teams from dozens of other countries around the globe and locally.
- Ran STEM demonstrations at Greendale Village celebrations
And 2021-2022 has been busier than ever! So far we have:
- Logged over 1000 hours of community service!
- Shared STEM and robot demonstrations with over 1000 kids in our community!
- Created and run Explore STEM Classes through Greendale Park and Rec at all three Greendale elementary schools during the spring session.
- Prepared and will run Explore STEM Park and Rec Classes at all the Greendale elementary schools during the Winter Park and Rec Session too!
- Created and are mentoring a new FTC Robotics team for Greendale Middle School students (Go Team Storm!)
- Mentored a Lego League Team at College Park elementary school
- Ran a robotics camp with FIRST Staff for inner city students!
- Are mentoring a new FTC Team at Greenfield High School
- Volunteered helping paint Greendale Fire Hydrants
- Volunteered at the Greendale Tree Lighting event
- Volunteered at the Greendale Fire Department Open House
- Learned how and created a 501c3 Nonprofit organization to help promote STEM in the community
- Did STEM demonstration booths at:
- Milwaukee Maker Faire
- Greendale Village Days
- Greendale Big Truck and Bike Safety Day
- PetPalooza
- Greendale 4th of July Celebration
- The Greendale J&J Birthday Bash Event

- The Step Up to Better Health Greendale Fun Run
- Made a float and marched in the Greendale 4th of July Parade
- Met with local and national legislators to promote STEM funding
- Created and ran a continuing "STEM Sisters" online event to connect girls across the country who are interested in STEM with university students and STEM professionals
- Shared about Robotics and FIRST at MSOE's Alumni Night
